Story in brief
Aston Villa U23s took a point at Wolverhampton Wanderers U23s after a goalless draw in Telford.
Under the pump for the majority of the match, the Young Lions valiantly kept the division's second-top scorers at bay.
Villa's best chance came early in the second half when Rushian Hepburn-Murphy headed onto the roof of the net following a whipped-in corner.
But after conceding five at home to league leaders Reading in their previous PL2 game at Villa Park, it can be considered a good point all round for Kevin MacDonald's side.
Absentees
Callum O'Hare was left out again following his appearance on Dean Smith's substitutes bench against Birmingham City on Sunday.
His omission for the U23s suggests he could be again in the upcoming home clash with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
Jack Clarke and Jake Doyle-Hayes also didn't feature, with one or both a possibility for the bench against Forest due to Henri Lansbury's injury sustained against Blues.
Next up
We take on Plymouth Argyle in the Premier League Cup at Villa Park this Friday.
We've beaten Bristol City and Derby County in the competition so far this term, as we top our group going into the third round of fixtures.
