Aston Villa's John McGinn has named as International Player of the Year by the Scottish Football Writers’ Association, following a stunning run of recent form in a Scotland shirt.
The midfielder has scored seven goals in his last six games for Steve Clarke's side, including a hat-trick against San Marino in a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier back in October.
McGinn was also enjoying an impressive debut season in the Premier League before suffering an ankle injury against Southampton in December, with goals against Spurs, Arsenal and Burnley added to his typically energetic performances in the middle of the park.
Much to the delight of the Villa faithful, he is back in full training as Dean Smith's team prepare for their return to action against Sheffield United at Villa Park on Wednesday June 17.
