Devon & Somerset
Chairperson - Michael Goostry
The Devon & Somerset Lions is an Official Aston Villa Supporters club covering Devon, Cornwall and Somerset, we travel to most home games and a few away. The club is a Family/Friendly club and all Villa Supporters are very welcome to join. As a lifelong Villa Supporter from Harborne now living in Exeter I’ve seen many ups and downs of this famous old club, I have many memories of matches that I have attended over the years, the ones that spring to mind is the European Cup of 82, I was only a young boy when I saw us win the FA Cup in 57 and I had the privilege of seeing Pele in a friendly against Santos at Villa Park. The club have recently put on a series of Q & A sessions with former players via Skype, Zoom or similar charging a nominal fee, the purpose is to raise the profile of Devon & Somerset Lions, build a relationship with Aston Villa and the Foundation, whilst raising money for charity, this exercise has proved a great success and we are looking to continue this certainly in the absence of attending matches.

We are also the hosts of the 8th annual North American Supporters Clubs meet up. The Toronto Lions, for us, is the closest you’ll get to a packed Villa Park without actually being there. It’s all the remedy we need to fight off the homesickness, you’ll make some great friends and you can’t help but smile when you realise how many people have turned up to watch the game with you. We have a laugh win or lose, reminisce in the memories that the club has created and stand by for the memories to come. It’s a fantastic group to be part of and we don’t go unnoticed. Help us grow even further and become an official member today.

The Cincinnati Lions meet for each match at Rhinehaus in Over-the-Rhine. We have made a lot of friends at Rhinehaus over the past few years, and the staff have always treated us incredibly well. We are a mix of ex-pats and American Aston Villa supporters, some new to the team, and some who have followed their whole life. We were established in 2003, and encourage those who either reside in Chicago or are just passing through to come and join us. Once you enter the bar, head toward the rear where you will see a wall adorned with memorabilia that signifies the spot we like to gather and watch the games together. Be sure to bring your best singing voices and footie banter as we share the bar with a couple of other teams (Arsenal, Manchester City, and Nottingham Forest to name a few) and enjoy some good friendly rivalry with those less fortunate than us. A word of warning though... when we win, we drink Malort. It's best not to ask any questions. Up the Villa!

While our club is small in numbers and still growing, you can join us for a wonderful time as we cheer on the mighty Villa together. Our group consists of expats as well as devoted American fans. Sweden
Chairperson - Anders Svensson
We are located from north (Kokukskulle) to south (Malmö). We try to watch the games on TV together around Sweden. We have collection pubs in many places, so if you are visiting Sweden and Villa is on TV, you can meet us in different pubs. In the playoff final against Derby, we broke a record with over 40 members in the Stockholm area at the same pub, Malmö and Gothenburg had around 20 and LInköping 30 at their gathering pubs. Every year we produce a membership gift that you receive when you become a member. This year it is a bottle opener. In previous years, there have been umbrellas, coasters, coolers, t-shirts and pins. For the past 15 years we have been going to every home premiere and a match later in the season which is our membership trip. The record for the membership trip is 84 people. So we hope that the fans will be able to enter the arenas again so we can go over to Villa Park again. We currently have 326 members but are going for 500. The record is 517 from last season. About 10% are younggirls, women. We also have the occasional cat and dog named Aston as a member.

Aston Villa Austin Supporters Club was founded in 2010, and has a mix of supporters from native Texans, transplants, and born Brummies. When the club was relegated to the Championship, bars stopped showing the games and we became closer friends as well as supporters—visiting each other’s houses and dodgy bars to watch games. We hosted the North American supporters meet up in 2017 and had a great time meeting people from all over the continent that have a passion for Villa!

Latin
Chairperson - Stefano Armellini
The Latin Lions are the Italian supporters’ club, founded in 2007 by Stefano, Andrea and Charlie, and now numbering about 50 members all over "the boot" (as Italy is familiarly called) and even in the Basque Country.
The club’s seat is in Padova, in the region of Veneto in the North East of Italy.
Since 2008 the Latin Lions have enjoyed incredible opportunities courtesy of the Villa: for instance, their members had the chance to meet the legendary members of the 1982 team on several occasions at Villa Park and even at a dinner in a beautiful restaurant in the Birmingham area (unfortunately no longer existing) called “Restaurant 82” (nomen omen, said the Ancient Romans).
As the poet Wordsworth owed to the landscape of the Wye Valley, “in hours of weariness, sensations sweet felt in the blood and felt along the heart” the same felling have the Latin Lions for their fan club. It is through the fan club, infact, that they have been able to welcome to Italy the likes of Rob Bishop (with whom they have established a firm friendship), Garry Thompson, Ian Taylor and Peter Withe.
The apogee was reached when, after a lunch in a beautiful setting on the volcanic hills near Padova, they replicated for the cameras of AVTV the action of “that” goal in Rotterdam, with Peter Withe playing the part of Peter Withe and Stefano playing Tony Morley.
Or maybe the apogee was reached the day after, when the Latin Lions went to Florence with Rob Bishop and Peter Withe to watch Fiorentina v Milan at the invitation of Fiorentina, visited the Violas’ changing room and walked out onto the pitch before the game. The English contingent was so keen to visit beautiful Florence after the game (Rob Bishop bought a huge ice cream in Piazza della Signoria, for instance) that they almost missed their return train!
And there would be many other stories to tell (the Latin Lions even arranged a meeting in Rome, visiting the training centre of Stefano’s Italian club (Lazio, it goes without saying) and presenting the Lazio sporting director with a Villa shirt printed with his name).
But the most important achievement of the Latin Lions is that they are lucky enough to have become friends with some fantastic die-hard English Villa fans like Frank, Chris, Jon, Pauline and many others who always reserve a place for the Italian guys in the pubs which they go to before (ok, even after) the game. For the home games the Burton’s Arms is a must, while in the away game we usually go in beautiful pubs, rich of history, accurately chosen by our English mates.
The larger group of members is located in Padua where, in another era, we met to watch the villa games on TV.
We miss very much our trips to England, and the incredible results of the Villa 20-21 are our sole consolations. We must only fancy what we we would have done if we had been at the stadium with our friends for Villa Liverpool, for instance…..

Chairperson - Ben McCool
Come watch each and every Villa game LIVE at the Football Factory, downstairs at Legends pub - we're in the shadow of the Empire State Building in midtown Manhattan, making it an easily accessible destination from pretty much anywhere in New York City. Founded in 2006, the New York Villans is a steadily expanding group of devout fans from the UK, Ireland, and all across the United States -- all are welcome, not least if you enjoy a drink and a bit of banter with some of our (friendly) rival supporter groups! The Football Factory is a quite sensational spot to watch a live match, whether it's the Villa, any other Premier League team, or indeed a game from leagues around Europe, North America, South America, and beyond! It's also the place to be when it comes to International fixtures, including (but not restricted to!) the World Cup and European Championships. Jack Keane is your friendly host, and though a devout Manchester United supporter, he's no slouch when it comes to knowledge about all things Villa! We hope to see you in the pub soon, cheers and UTV!

Chairperson - Yazeer Serenna
Quite a number of Aston Villa fans in Malaysia initially thought that they were the only one. By forming the Aston Villa Malaysia Lions Club, we are uniting all of those Villans and forming a community around our mutual love of Aston Villa.
Of multicultural and multi-racial backgrounds, both locals and expats, the majority of Malaysian Lions are based in Kuala Lumpur & the Klang Valley with few in other states (e.g. Johor, Terengganu), while other isolated Villans are being discovered!
For games with early kick off times, we regularly meet to watch the matches together and sometimes even host opposing fans, with S+I in Bangsar being our version of Villa Park!
Otherwise, it’s late night alarm calls, rubbing our eyes on the couch and commenting on the games via Whatsapp.
For more information, check our Facebook page for events and information or email us - we are always happy to share our passion!
