Team news for United encounter

Matty Cash will miss Aston Villa’s Premier League trip to Manchester United while Aaron Wan-Bissaka faces a late fitness test ahead of Sunday.

Cash collected his fifth booking of the season in last weekend’s 1-1 draw against Fulham and now serves a one-match suspension at Old Trafford.

Fellow right-back Wan-Bissaka has been sidelined for the last five fixtures since mid-October and will be assessed this weekend.

Left-back Matteo Ruggeri and midfielder Amadou Onana remain absent due to injury.

Brian Madjo returns to contention having been unavailable to face Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League in midweek.

Manager Unai Emery provided a fitness update at Friday’s pre-match media conference.

“Aaron is close and tomorrow we’ll see if he’s training normally and feeling good,” said the Villa boss.

“Ruggeri is still working alone but he’s progressing well.

“Onana is long injured.

“I think the other players are available.”
