Jan Bednarek joined Aston Villa on loan from Southampton on the last day of the summer transfer window in September 2022.

The defender built up a strong reputation within English football after making 153 appearances during five years with the Saints.

Bednarek began his career in his homeland, Poland, with Lech Poznan. The imposing centre-back has been a regular for his country since making his debut in 2017, featuring at the World Cup in both 2022 and 2018 and 2020 European Championship.
