Bio
Leander Dendoncker completed a deadline day switch from Wolves to Aston Villa in September 2022. He made 21 appearances in his first season with the club, helping Villa finish seventh in the Premier League.
The midfielder moved to the Black Country, initially on loan, in 2018 and proceeded to rack up 159 appearances in gold and black. Dendoncker broke through at Anderlecht, where he won a First Division title and two Belgian Super Cups before his move to Wolves.
Dendoncker headed for Napoli on loan in January 2024 after making 15 appearances and scoring his first goal for Villa in the first half of the season.
On the international stage, Dendoncker represented Belgium at U16, U17, U19 and U21 level before making his senior bow in June 2015. He formed part of the 2018 World Cup squad that finished third in Russia, and also featured at the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
