Hayden Lindley left Manchester City to join Aston Villa in July 2019. A classy, ball-playing midfielder, Lindley has been a regular in the Under-18 and Under-21 squad since he moved to the club.

Lindley made his senior debut as a second half substitute against Liverpool in the FA Cup third round in January 2021. Four months later, he started as Aston Villa beat the Reds to win the FA Youth Cup at Villa Park. 

Newport County signed Lindley at the start of the 2022/23 campaign and he made five appearances in League Two before returning to Villa in January.
