Aston Villa Women announced the signing of Remi Allen on July 1, 2021. The midfielder joined on a two-year deal, having played a key role in Leicester Ciy's march to the FA Women’s Championship in 2020/21.

Allen brings a wealth of experience to the Villa having featured in a Champions League semi-final, as well as representing England at youth level before receiving a maiden senior call-up in 2014.

The combatitve midfielder made her Villa debut on the opening day of the 2021/22 season, incidentally against former club Leicester.

Allen popped up to score the game-winning goal in the closing stages to get her career off to a perfect start, while going on to become the club's joint-top goalscorer for the season.

The captain suffered an ACL injury in April and is currently undergoing her rehabilitation ahead of a potential return towards the end of the 22/23 campaign.
