We have been drawn to face Wigan Athletic at home in the second round of the Carabao Cup.
The tie will be played on the week starting August 21.
We made it through after a 2-1 away win at Colchester United while the Latics progressed after a 2-1 home win over Blackpool.
The last time we faced Wigan in the League Cup, we won 8-0 on aggregate over two legs in the 1994/95 season.
We won the first leg at home 5-0 – goals coming from Dalian Atkinson (2), Dwight Yorke, Nii Lamptey and Dean Saunders.
In the second leg, Nii Lamptey (2) and Guy Whittingham did the damage.
Steve Bruce, of course, had two spells bossing the Latics in 2001 and 2007-09.
