Aston Villa joins the LGBTQ+ community in celebrating Pride Month this June.

As a football club, we are committed to standing against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia.

As part of our ongoing work to make the club fully inclusive, we have worked closely with LGBTQ+ supporters' group Villa & Proud on a range of projects.

Villa & Proud featured in the relaunch of the club’s ‘allin’ initiative, the group played a key role in the Rainbow Laces campaign, which featured unique Kappa warm-up tops raising money for local charity Birmingham LGBT, and a Villa & Proud flag is visible all year round after it was installed in the Trinity Road stand.

Being an ally to the LGBTQ+ community, whether supporter, player or staff member is key, and there’s no better time to become a part of Villa & Proud.

Sam Timms, founder of Villa & Proud, said: “June is Pride month; not only an opportunity to celebrate the greater LGBT+ rights which we now enjoy but also to continue pushing towards true equality across the whole of society.

“No community stands alone & it's up to all of us to fight for a fairer, more inclusive world.

“Villa & Proud are working hard to make AVFC and Villa Park welcoming for everyone from all walks of life - join us today to create a safer, happier footballing future.”
