Aston Villa are pleased to confirm the signing of Ramona Petzelberger from SGS Essen.
The 27-year-old joins Gemma Davies’ side having spent the duration of her career in Germany up to this point.
Petzelberger has had previous spells at SG Wattenscheid 09, SC 07 Bad Neuenahr and Bayer Leverkusen.
The attacking midfielder has also represented Germany at youth level since the age of 15.
Gemma Davies had this to say on Petzelberger’s arrival: “I am delighted that we have signed Ramona, with a huge amount of experience in the German Bundesliga.
“She is a very technical player, who likes to play between the lines and make key passes that unlocks defences.
“She is exceptionally fit and can operate box-to-box with ease.
“I am excited by what Ramona will bring to our team.”
The Super League season is aiming for a start date of 5-6 September.
