Aston Villa’s opening 2020/21 Premier League fixture against Sheffield United will now take place on Monday, September 21 (ko 6pm).
At a Premier League Shareholders’ meeting on Tuesday, clubs agreed that all 28 matches scheduled to be played in September will be broadcast live in the UK, via the League’s existing broadcasting partners Sky Sports, BT Sport, Amazon Prime Video and BBC.
Villa’s home clash against the Blades will be shown live on Sky Sports.
The club’s original opening-day Premier League encounter against Manchester City was postponed and is to be rearranged.
Confirmation of broadcast selections for the remainder of September, including Villa’s trip to Fulham, will follow imminently.
In consultation with all relevant stakeholders, the Premier League is considering appropriate arrangements for matches which will take place after October 1.
