Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish is hoping for many more opportunities on the international stage after he made his senior England debut on Tuesday night.
After being an unused substitute in Iceland on Saturday, Grealish was summoned by Gareth Southgate for the final 14 minutes of the UEFA Nations League clash with Denmark as England searched for a winner.
Villa fans around the world expressed their pride in seeing one of their own representing the Three Lions and following the full-time whistle, Grealish couldn’t hide his delight.

He said: “I was actually a bit emotional. It’s something every child in England dreams of.
“It was a shame that we couldn’t get the win but I want to thank Gareth [Southgate] for the opportunity and hopefully it’s the first of many.
“I’m sure I’ll have a few messages, it’s a brilliant day and one of the best of my career so far.”
Last week, Grealish explained that this international break felt like a trial, and he certainly made his mark.
A trademark run from deep almost produced a perfect moment, but despite the goalless draw, the midfielder is pleased with how his debut went.
Jack Grealish created more chances in his 14 minutes on pitch than Jadon Sancho, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice and Harry Kane combined.

“I’ve enjoyed every single minute, everyone has made me feel welcome,” Grealish added.
“I’m a bit gutted to be honest because when I went on that run, I think I should’ve pulled the trigger or picked someone out, but I was happy with how I did on my debut.
“It’s different, you’re used to the surroundings and have more chemistry, but I didn’t want to look too selfish and tried to cross it, when I probably could have pulled the trigger.”
