Dean Smith saluted his Aston Villa side after they sealed a superb 3-0 victory at Arsenal.
Ollie Watkins bagged a second-half brace at the Emirates after Bukayo Saka’s own goal, under pressure from Trezeguet, midway through the first period.
Villa were sublime against the Gunners and left the capital with three goals, three points and a clean sheet.
“It doesn’t get any better, does it? Coming to the Emirates and getting a win,” head coach Smith told VillaTV post-match.
“I was very disappointed last season, leading twice, they had a man sent off and they came back to win the game.
“Disappointed again the supporters aren’t here to celebrate that victory, it was a great victory, a great performance.
“I think what pleased me most was our work without the ball, how hard we worked, how organised we looked.
“And because there’s no fans here, you could see it, you could hear it and you could feel it, that there was no way through us.”
