Trezeguet played the role of super sub as he came to Aston Villa’s rescue with a quickfire double to sink Fulham at Villa Park.
Aleksandar Mitrović pounced on an error from Tyrone Mings to give the visitors the lead after 62 minutes.
But Mings made amends when he provided the cross that Trezeguet dispatched to level the scores after 78 minutes.
And just three minutes later, the Egyptian winger emphatically thumped Keinan Davis’ cross into the back of the net to complete the comeback.
With Fulham’s resistance finally broken, Ollie Watkins turned home Bertrand Traoré’s centre to wrap up the win.

Fulham started the day unbeaten in their last eight top-flight away matches, and they fired an early warning when Mitrović was given the time to turn and shoot on the edge of the box, calling Emiliano Martínez into a full-length dive.
The visitors were in full flow early on and after Bobby De Cordova-Reid had sent a header wide, Mitrović’s low curling effort forced Martínez to scramble and tip the ball around the post.
With Jack Grealish missing for a seventh straight game, Villa searched for fluency in attack but had only a wayward John McGinn effort and a blocked Watkins shot to show for their efforts as the game neared half-time.
But with seconds to go until the interval, the referee pointed to the penalty spot when Watkins nicked the ball away from a lunging Mario Lemina.
However, after a long VAR check, Andrew Madley reversed his decision after adjudging the midfielder got to the ball first.

That decision looked like being a pivotal one, even more so when Fulham took the lead after 62 minutes.
Mings was under little pressure when he mishit a back pass, allowing Mitrović to steal in, round Martínez and tuck the ball into an empty net.
Dean Smith responded by introducing Trezeguet and Davis, with the latter teeing up Traoré for a shot as Villa started to test Fulham’s backline.
And the pressure soon told, with Trezeguet directing Mings’ cross past Alphonse Areola with a superb first-time shot.
Smith’s substitutes combined to complete the comeback after 81 minutes when Davis muscled past a defender before sending a cross to the back post where Trezeguet once again applied the first-time finish.
Villa were suddenly full of confidence, and they made sure of the victory when Watkins tapped home Traoré’s cross.
