Targett signs contract extension

Aston Villa is delighted to announce that Matt Targett has signed a contract extension until 2025.

The 25-year-old left-back has become an integral part of the club’s defence and is one of three Villa players to have started all 32 Premier League matches so far this season, helping to register an impressive 14 clean sheets.

Since arriving from Southampton in the summer of 2019, Targett has made 64 appearances in all competitions, finding the net on two occasions.
