Aston Villa succumbed to two first half goals as Brighton took the honours in their Under-18 Premier League clash at Bodymoor Heath on Saturday.

The Seagulls took revenge for an FA Youth Cup defeat ten days earlier, with Zak Emmerson putting them ahead after 19 minutes.

And the visitors added a second just before the break when Jaami Qureshi netted their second.

Villa enjoyed 57% possession but couldn’t make their statistical dominance count as they slipped to a first defeat in four matches.

The loss leaves Villa fourth in the table heading into their final seven matches of the campaign.
