Trézéguet marked his return with a goal as Aston Villa drew 3-3 with Birmingham City in Premier League 2 at Bodymoor Heath on Monday night.
The Egyptian played 60 minutes before being replaced by Declan Frith, his first action since suffering a serious knee injury against Liverpool at Anfield back in April.
Tristan Goodridge and Keinan Davis were also on target for Mark Delaney’s side, with George Hall, Oriol Soldevila and substitute Kyle Hurst finding the net for the visitors.

Trézéguet was lively from the off and he had a close-range shot saved after just 10 minutes, following Davis’ through ball.
Villa took the lead four minutes later when Caleb Chukwuemeka capitalised on a mistake and played a square pass for Goodridge to tap home.
Kieran Wakefield poked an effort just wide midway through the first half, but the away side got their equaliser on 29 minutes through Hall’s low finish.

Parity was restored for just three minutes though, with Trézéguet converting from the spot after Davis was brought down by the City keeper.
Chukwuemeka went close just before the half-time interval, but his strike from range curled over the crossbar.
After winning the penalty, Davis extended the lead seven minutes after the break with a clinical right-footed finish into the bottom corner.
Soldevila reduced the deficit by beating Filip Marschall after a mistake at the back, with Trézéguet then replaced by Frith on the hour-mark following a promising return to action.
The visitors applied late pressure as they searched for an equaliser and it came with eight minutes remaining, with second-half substitute Hurst converting a tap-in after Marschall had made a strong low save.
