Ezri Konsa says confidence is high among Aston Villa’s ranks heading into Saturday’s Premier League clash at Liverpool.

Centre-back Konsa bagged his first goals of the season last weekend to help down Leicester City 2-1.

It secured a third win in four matches under Steven Gerrard for in-form Villa, who travel to Anfield to face a Reds side currently second in the table and unbeaten on home soil this term.

But Konsa insists preparations this week have gone well.

“It’s been really good,” he said.

“Confidence is high after the win on Sunday.

“We’re all looking forward to playing at Anfield, we know how much of a good team they are but we’re relishing the challenge.”

The club’s only defeat under head coach Gerrard came against league leaders Manchester City, but there were plenty of positives to take from the performance which saw Villa push the reigning champions all the way in the second half.

And ahead of travelling to fellow high-fliers Liverpool, Konsa added: “We all know that we have a good team.

“We know that if we stick to our game plan and we focus on ourselves, and we do what’s right, we know we can come away with something in every game we play.”

Ezri sat down with VillaTV to discuss his brace in last Sunday’s win over the Foxes, Villa’s threat at set-pieces, this weekend’s encounter against Liverpool and more.
