Aston Villa Women are delighted to announce the appointment of Marcus Bignot as Interim Manager with immediate effect.
Birmingham-born Bignot has a huge depth of experience in women’s football and was one of the pioneering coaches in the game in this country.
The 46-year-old enjoyed a successful seven-year management period at Birmingham City Women before moving into the men’s game where he has coached and managed a number of professional and semi-professional clubs. He is also currently a coach in the FA’s England U19 men’s structure and Joint Manager of National League North club Guiseley. Bignot will retain those roles in parallel with this appointment which has been made until the end of the current Barclays FA Women’s Super League season.
The current Aston Villa Women’s coaching team, led by Gemma Davies, remain in their existing positions.
