A clean sheet from Emiliano Martínez helped Argentina end their 28-year wait to win the Copa América.

The Aston Villa shot stopper recorded his fourth clean sheet of the tournament as Angel Di Maria's 22nd-minute strike saw Argentina beat Brazil 1-0 in the final in Rio de Janeiro's Maracana stadium on Sunday morning.

Martínez's superb form throughout the competition, which included three saves in the semi-final penalty shoot-out, earned him the Golden Glove award.

The goalkeeper only made his international debut in June and lifting the Copa América title, Argentina's first since 1993, comes in just his eighth cap.

There was disappointment for Villa team-mate Douglas Luiz, who was an unused substitute for tournament hosts Brazil, but the midfielder will now look forward to taking part in the Tokyo Olympics for his country.

Congratulations to Emi and the rest of the Argentina squad!
