Emiliano Buendía has hailed his move to Aston Villa as an "amazing step" in his career.
The 24-year-old this week signed a five-year deal with the club and has spoken to both head coach Dean Smith and compatriot Emiliano Martinez to gain an insight on life as a Villa player.
Buendía, who is currently in South America having been on duty with the Argentina national team, is delighted to complete the switch to B6.
In his first interview, he told VillaTV: “I’m really, really happy in this moment. For me, it’s an amazing step to move to Villa.
“I’m excited to start a new season with the club. He (Dean Smith) told me about the objectives of the club, how he wants the team to play and that was one of the things that convinced me to choose Aston Villa.
“I like the style, the project and the ambition of the club to make very good things this season and in the future. I’m really happy to have this chance this year.”
The playmaker became a cult hero for Norwich City since moving to England in 2018, enjoying his best season to date in 2020/21, setting new personal bests for goals and assists.
Buendía led the Canaries’ Championship title charge, scoring 15 goals to go alongside 16 assists and winning the EFL Championship Player of the Year award.
And after receiving his maiden call-up to the senior national team last month, he’s hoping to continue his upward trajectory as a Villa player.
He said: “It was my best year, in terms of football, goals and assists. I will work hard to do the same here.
“In the Premier League, it’s the best league in the world, it’s the toughest league in the world, so now I will be involved together with great players.
“I will try to help my team to have a good year.”
