John McGinn tasted defeat as Scotland fell to a 2-0 reverse against Czech Republic in their opening match of Euro 2020 on Monday.
The Villa midfielder completed 90 minutes at Hampden Park, with Scotland playing their first match at a major international tournament for 23 years.
But it was a disappointing afternoon as Steve Clarke’s side started their European Championship campaign with a loss.
The two sides played out an evenly-balanced first half but Scotland fell behind to Patrik Schick’s impressive header just before the break.

The hosts rallied following the restart in search of a leveller but a stunning 50-yard strike from Schick near the halfway line, his second of the afternoon, doubled their deficit in the 52nd minute.
McGinn will now come up against Villa team-mates Tyrone Mings and Jack Grealish as Scotland look to get back on track in Group D when they face England at Wembley on Friday (ko 8pm).
Speaking post-match, McGinn said: “We got beat so we’re disappointed.
“I thought we played pretty well first half, without threatening them too much or getting behind them.
“The first goal was a poor one to lose, brilliant header but, from our point of view, we’re extremely disappointed with it. You don’t want to lose a goal from a set-play on a second phase.
“And then the second one is a brilliant strike but, again, we can do better.
“We can sit here and say we played alright because we did, the 2-0 scoreline probably flatters them a wee bit. But they found their quality at the right moments and we need to find that on Friday.
“We can either sulk about it or go into Friday with the same attitude and hopefully get a better result.”
