Aston Villa travel to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Wednesday night for their final away game of the Premier League season.

Dean Smith's side head to London aiming to reach the 50-point mark in the top flight for the first time since 2010.

Villa have won eight times on the road in the league this season, scoring 24 goals and conceding 18 in their 18 games.

Spurs have won three of their last four games since Ryan Mason took charge, beating Wolves 2-0 last time out thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Kane is aiming to win the Premier League Golden Boot for the third time and he is currently the joint-top goalscorer in the league with 22 goals, along with Liverpool's Mo Salah.

Son Heung-min and Kane have combined for 14 goals in the league this season; more than any other duo, with Kane also leading the top flight in assists (13).

The Last Meeting

Spurs took all three points when they came to Villa Park in March, with José Mourinho recording his final win as manager of the club.

Carlos Vinicius opened the scoring on 29 minutes, before Kane made the game safe for the visitors with a penalty midway through the second half.

Mourinho failed to win any of the next three games and was replaced by former midfielder Mason on April 19.

Team News

Tyrone Mings

Morgan Sanson and Matty Cash are set to miss the final two games of the season with knee and hamstring injuries respectively.

Smith had been hopeful that Sanson would be able to return but the midfielder has suffered a recurrence of the injury that has kept him out since the start of April.

Tyrone Mings could return to the squad after missing the defeat at Crystal Palace at the weekend, while Trézéguet remains sidelined.

For Spurs, Serge Aurier is back in training and could feature, but Gareth Bale is a doubt for Wednesday night.

The Boss

“I expect a good game. They’ve got a front four who are capable of hurting anybody in Gareth Bale, Dele Alli, Son Heung-min and Harry Kane.

“So we have to make sure defensively we are much better than we were second half against Crystal Palace.

“If you concede 23 chances against Tottenham, you’re going to concede goals.

“So we have to make sure we’re tight, for sure, in this game.”
