A late goal saw Aston Villa to a 3-2 victory against Norwich City in their final game of the Under-18 Premier League season on Tuesday.

Tristan Abldeen-Goodridge struck with 10 minutes to play to settle an entertaining encounter that swung both ways at Bodymoor Heath.

Villa were six points above City ahead of kick-off, but the Canaries took the lead when Ola Okeowo netted on 19 minutes.

However, a Villa side once again featuring a number of younger Academy players hit back swiftly, forging ahead with two goals in seven minutes.

Ruben Shakpoke got on the scoresheet to level matters before Caolan McBride made it 2-1 after 34 minutes.

Yet the lead lasted only six minutes before Oscar Thorn restored parity shortly before the break.

Following an action-packed first half, the goals dried up in the second period before Abldeen-Goodridge had the final say in the 80th minute, popping up with his fourth league strike this season to win the match.

Victory sees Villa move into fourth place in the table, although teams below them could overtake dependent on the results of their games in hand.
