Aston Villa were on the end of a narrow 1-0 defeat to Southampton at St Mary's on Friday night.

Adam Armstrong's drilled finish from the edge of the penalty area after just three minutes proved the difference on the south coast, despite a second-half performance which saw Villa push the hosts all the way without getting the reward they deserved.
