Dean Smith says his Aston Villa squad have the character and quality to turn things around after Sunday’s defeat against West Ham United in the Premier League.
The high-flying Hammers left Villa Park with all three points against the ten-man Villans, who lost Ezri Konsa to a red card in the second half.
Head coach Smith believes his team will bounce back from a fourth consecutive loss in the top flight.

“These players aren’t short of character,” he said.
“We’ve had four results that we’ve been on the wrong side of now, but there’s enough character and quality in that dressing room to turn it around.”
Smith added: “The sending-off galvanised us.
“We felt wronged. Looking back at the decision, it was wrong. The ball was going away from goal.
“I’d probably have understood if he’d have sent Kortney Hause off but he didn’t. The third goal knocks the stuffing out of us. We had the chance with Ollie that hit the bar.
“Our response to going a man down was good and it showed the character that we’ve got.”
