Aston Villa Women are delighted to announce the signing of Australia international Emily Gielnik from Swedish club Vittsjö GIK, subject to ITC (International Travel Clearance).
Gielnik, 29, joins the Club for the 2021/22 campaign and will wear the number nine shirt.
The forward arrives with plenty of experience, having been capped over 40 times by the Matildas.
Gielnik has previous experience in England’s top flight with Liverpool, and is Carla Ward’s ninth summer signing.
Manager Ward said: “Emily is someone we’ve monitored for a few months and I’m delighted we’ve managed to agree a deal that suits all parties.
“She’s a player with a wealth of domestic and international experience, and is a player that can score goals at the highest level.
“Emily’s link-up play and aerial threat is something that will cause teams problems. I’m pleased to finally get this one over the line.”
