John McGinn and Danny Ings have both been shortlisted for the Premier League’s August Goal of the Month award.
The Aston Villa duo have been nominated following stunning strikes for the club last month.
McGinn netted the club’s first goal of the 2021/22 season in sublime fashion against Watford at Vicarage Road, sweeping home a superb first-time finish from 20 yards, although it was not enough to prevent a 3-2 defeat.
Ings set Villa on their way to a 2-0 triumph over Newcastle United with a spectacular overhead kick, which brought Villa Park to its feet and has duly won the club’s August Goal of the Month vote.
Both goals are now up for the Premier League honour – and Villa fans can vote below now!
McGinn and Ings will be up against Luke Ayling (Leeds United), Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United), Jamie Vardy (Leicester City), Sadio Mane (Liverpool), Raphinha (Leeds United) and Rodri (Manchester City).
Voting closes at 12noon on Monday, September 6 and the winner is announced on Friday, September 10.
