Matty Cash hailed his new contract as “another step in the right direction” after he committed his long-term future to Aston Villa.
The 24-year-old has gone from strength to strength since joining the club in September 2020, establishing himself in the Premier League before earning international recognition with Poland.
And Cash was all too happy to put pen-to-paper on a new deal to keep him at Villa Park.

He said: “I’m delighted. It’s another proud day for me and my family.
“It’s another step in the right direction, and I just want to keep progressing every day, working hard and getting better.
“A big thanks to the club for rewarding me with a new contract, I can’t thank them enough.”
Upon arrival in B6, the full-back’s all-action style endeared him to the Villa faithful and his consistently high performance level has marked him out as a fan favourite ever since.

And Cash is keen to keep impressing in claret and blue.
“I’ve got a really good relationship with the fans. I’m an all-out committed player and hopefully they can see that,” he said.
“I want to keep showing them what I can do on the pitch. We’ve got such a good fanbase here, the club’s so big and I love putting the shirt on every week.”

Cash’s recent form saw him win the club’s Player of the Month award for March, and the defender is loving life as a Villan.
He said: “It feels like home. I love coming to Bodymoor every day and working hard.
“I’ve only been here a couple of years, but time has gone so fast. I’ve only had a season playing in front of the fans.
“I love it here; I feel at home here and coming into training every day is great.”
