Aston Villa Women drew 1-1 with Everton at Bodymoor Heath on Sunday afternoon.
Dan Turner netted during the opening exchanges as Villa looked to win for the third time this pre-season.
But Everton struck late to hold Villa.
Carla Ward made four changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Liverpool on Wednesday.
Anna Patten partnered Rachel Corsie in the centre of defence, while Ruesha Littlejohn returned to the midfield having come off the bench last time out.
Rachel Daly started up front, and Dan Turner was deployed at left wing.
Daly, starting for the first time in a Villa shirt, had an early sight of goal when she drove forward from the left-hand side. Her attempt at goal, however, pulled wide of the near post.
The hosts would not waste their next opportunity, though.
Following a nicely worked move involving Tash Harding, Turner drilled a low effort beyond the Everton ‘keeper to notch against her former club.
The visitors grew into the game from there on in and had a couple of good opportunities to level the score.
Anna Leat was equal to both efforts as her clean sheet remained intact.
Everton began the second half the stronger of the two sides as they search for a route back into the game.
Izzy Christiansen sent a free-kick just over the crossbar, while a headed attempt crashed against the post in the closing stages.
There was still time for the Toffees to strike before the final whistle, and they did it in contentious circumstances.
Sarah Mayling felt she was fouled in the buildup to an Everton equaliser as Villa were mightily frustrated to end the game with just a draw.
One last friendly awaits Ward’s side at Reading next weekend, before September’s WSL opener against Brighton & Hove Albion.
