Aston Villa can confirm George Boateng has left his role in the Academy and is pleased to announce the appointments of Dan Green and Peter Gilbert to the Under-21s coaching staff.
The Club would like to thank George and wish him all the best in his new role with the Ghana national team after three years working with the young players in our Academy.
Dan Green will join us from Exeter City where he was a first-team coach and Under-23 Lead.
After playing for the Grecians, Dan transitioned into a coaching role and over the last decade has progressed his career to work through every tier of the Academy and first-team system at the club.
Peter Gilbert will join from West Bromwich Albion where he has most recently been the Under-18 Lead Coach.
After a Football League playing career, Peter successfully moved into coaching and over the past eight years has worked with a number of age groups at Albion, having notable success in the FA Youth Cup.
Peter has also worked with a significant number of players who have had youth international recognition, along with many progressing into first-team careers within the Football League and Premier League.
