Ezri Konsa says Aston Villa are ready to take on Liverpool on Boxing Day.

The squad have completed a training camp in Dubai and played several warm-up matches in preparation for the Premier League’s return.

And Konsa believes Villa are in a good position to secure a positive result at Villa Park.

“We know how good they are; they’re a really good team with really good players,” he said.

“Our focus is on us and concentrating on what we need to do. We’re focusing on our game plan, and if we do that, I’m sure we’ll come away with something on Monday.”

Konsa added: “It’s always a great atmosphere at Villa Park, and with the fans behind us anything is possible.

“Like you saw against Manchester United, with the fans behind us, it was amazing. I’m sure we can do the same on Boxing Day.”

Villa won their final two league matches before a six-week winter break for the World Cup, moving the club up to 12th in the table.

Konsa now says the challenge is to produce results consistently after having time to adapt to the demands of head coach Unai Emery.

He said: “We’ve done really well in our previous two games in the Premier League. Now it’s all about consistency.

“We’ve had lots of time to work with the boss in training to prepare for this game.

“On Monday, we’ll be more than ready.”
