Aston Villa supporters have voted Emi Buendía as the club’s January Player of the Month, in partnership with Cazoo.
The attacking midfielder was the runaway winner for Villa fans after an impressive month, which finished with him heading home the winner to secure all three points against Everton.
Buendía, who also made his senior debut for Argentina earlier this week, provided a memorable assist for Danny Ings to open the scoring at Brentford in early January before Villa eventually fell to a 2-1 defeat.
He put in another eye-catching performance at Old Trafford as Steven Gerrard's side dominated Manchester United in their FA Cup third-round tie but ultimately fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat.
Just days later, Buendía completed a further 90 minutes as the Villans battled back to secure a 2-2 draw at home to United in the Premier League, before nodding in his second goal of the season to cap a man-of-the-match performance and seal victory against the Toffees at Goodison Park.

The club’s Player of the Month poll, in association with our principal partner Cazoo, attracted over 7,000 votes from Villa fans. The top three players were:
1) Emi Buendía – 53%
2) Jacob Ramsey – 24%
3) Philippe Coutinho – 7%
Congratulations, Emi!
