Several of Aston Villa’s loanees made an impact for their respective clubs at the weekend.

It was his third goal in just six appearances since his move to Deepdale in January, with Preston now just four points off the play-off spots.

In Turkey, Trézéguet marked his İstanbul Başakşehir debut by recording the assist for the opening goal as they beat Gaziantep 2-0.

In the Premier League, Anwar El Ghazi made his Everton debut as a late substitute during their 3-0 win over Leeds United at Goodison Park.

Frédéric Guilbert and Wesley both helped their clubs to edge tight encounters, with Strasbourg beating Angers 1-0 in Ligue 1 and Internacional prevailing by the same scoreline over Caxias in Brazil.

Keinan Davis and Jaden Philogene-Bidace went head-to-head in the Championship, with Nottingham Forest and Stoke City playing out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
