Jacob Ramsey admitted scoring his maiden goal at Villa Park in front of the Holte End is “what dreams are made of”.

The 20-year-old Academy graduate bagged his third Premier League goal of the season against Manchester United after his strikes against Arsenal and Norwich City.

And he picked the perfect moment to net his first on home soil in front of the claret and blue faithful, setting Villa on their way to a memorable fightback and a 2-2 draw.

Speaking to VillaTV, he said: “My first goal at Villa Park in front of the Holte End.

“Coming through the Academy, it’s what dreams are made of.”

Ramsey then went on to claim an assist as he set up Philippe Coutinho for Villa’s leveller.

“It’s a dream come true, scoring in front of the Holte End,” he added.

“I’ve grown up watching Coutinho at Liverpool and Barcelona too.

“To assist him on his home debut, his Villa debut, and to score – it can’t get much better than that.”

Aston Villa v Manchester United

Villa fought back from 2-0 down to secure a point against United, Bruno Fernandes netting in either half before the hosts’ late comeback.

Reflecting on the encounter, Ramsey said: “The atmosphere was amazing, when we walked out for the first half; goosebumps.

“It was just unlucky that we couldn’t get that winner.

“I think the first 20-25 minutes, that was probably one of the slowest starts we’ve had this season.

“But, I think, after the second goal, that gave us a little bit of belief and confidence and if we had of played like that from the start we would have won the game.”
