Lucas Digne says he’s happy to be back in an Aston Villa kit after beginning pre-season training in Australia.
The Frenchman headed down under early to kick-off his preparations for the new campaign along with the rest of the Club’s internationals.
The group of Villans will soon be joined by the rest of the squad, with Digne keen to make the most of the tour.

He said: “It’s nice to get back in an Aston Villa shirt and to see the other players and enjoy it (pre-season) with them.
“We are less now, but it’s a good time to be together and enjoy.
“It’s like a big family and you have to have a good relationship with everybody.”
Digne has been training alongside new signing Boubacar Kamara in Australia, and the full-back knows all about his qualities having played with him for France.

“He’s a really nice guy and a really good player. He’s just had his first call-up for the national team,” he said.
“He showed all his quality in Marseille and he will show his quality in Aston Villa too. He’ll bring us a lot of quality.
“He’s smart tactically and he’s really good with and without the ball. I think he can bring more calm with the ball.”
Villa’s pre-season ramps up when the team take on Leeds United in their Queensland Champions Cup opener on Sunday.

Digne’s form at the back end of last season was a major plus point for Steven Gerrard’s side, and the 28-year-old can’t wait to get back into action.
He said: “I’m impatient to start the season because, personally, I finished [last season] really well.
“I want to help the team the best I can and if I have some stats that’s really good but I prefer the team to win the games – that’s the most important thing.”
