Aston Villa Women is pleased to announce the appointments of two new senior coaches to the first team ahead of the 2022/23 season.

Sam Rose will join as Assistant Manager and Luke Tisdale will become First Team Coach under Carla Ward.

Rose moves to Villa having held previous positions at Burton Albion as a Professional Development Phase Lead Coach, and at the Football Association as a UEFA Coach Developer.

Tisdale has worked for Coventry City for eight seasons as Head Coach of their men's Under-23s.

Both Rose and Tisdale join the club with vast experience in the development and performance of players.

They will start working alongside Carla Ward with immediate effect.

Ward, First Team Manager, said: “I am delighted to welcome both Sam and Luke to the football club."

"We conducted a thorough interview process that focused on important areas on and off the pitch. We believe the strengths of both Sam and Luke will compliment the rest of the staffing group to help drive our standards and bring in fresh ideas."

"Both Sam and Luke have a strong history of developing teams as well as inviduals. Both are very detailed coaches and have a hunger to make players better and compete at a high level. I look forward to working with them across the season."

With the appointments of Rose and Tisdale, the club can confirm the departures of Carly Davies and Alan Reeves.

We would like to thank Carly and Alan for their contributions at Aston Villa and wish them all the very best for the future.
