Calum Chambers is keen to build on the momentum of the last two matches and use that as a springboard heading into Saturday’s clash against Burnley.

Aston Villa returned to winning ways last weekend courtesy of a 2-0 triumph over Norwich City, securing back-to-back clean sheets following a solid draw at Leicester City.

And centre-back Chambers, who made his sixth Premier League start for the club against the Canaries, says it has been a positive week at Bodymoor Heath as Villa look to extend their unbeaten run at Turf Moor.

“It’s been a good atmosphere around the place, we’ve been working hard, obviously focusing straightaway on the next game in hand,” he told VillaTV.

“We have targets we’ve set for the remainder of the season, so it’s important for us now to work hard and focus on the next game straightaway."

He added: “We had a good result against Leicester, away from home and keeping a clean sheet, and then we built on that in the next game with another clean sheet and a win.

“It’s important for us now to work on that momentum, use that as a springboard.

“It’s a big game this weekend but I think we’ve had a good week and we’re all ready for it.”

The Villans kept an 11th clean sheet of the season against Norwich as they moved back to within three points of the top 10 in the table.

And Chambers feels there’s plenty more to come after taking four points from the last six on offer.

“I think it’s a good base to work off,” he said.

“We all know we have another level or maybe two or three that we need to go up.

“We’ve got the quality to do that so it’s important we focus on that and use those two results, those two clean sheets, as a springboard to go and do that.”

Villa travel to Lancashire this weekend looking to stop a Burnley side who have won their last three matches and are unbeaten in four.

The Clarets are in the middle of a scrap for survival, with Villa still to face them twice in their final five matches of the campaign.

Chambers is expecting a stern test but insists it is one they’re ready for.

“Everyone has seen they’re on a great run of form, so it’s going to be a tough game. Every game in this league is tough,” added the defender.

“As I say, we’ve had a very good week, we’ve prepared well and trained hard so we’ll go there and do everything we can to get a win.”
