Matty Cash was named Aston Villa 2021/22 Supporters’ Player of the Season at the club’s End of Season Awards Dinner.

The right-back scooped the honour during a prestigious night in the iconic Holte Suite at Villa Park, which hosted our first awards dinner since 2019.

Coaching staff and players from Villa's men’s and women’s teams as well as the club’s Academy joined supporters, partners and hosts Adil Ray and Michelle Owen to celebrate the highlights of the current campaign

Cash is the only Villa player to have started all 35 Premier League matches to date this season and has impressed in Villa’s defence.

The 24-year-old netted his maiden goal in claret and blue in the 3-0 victory over Everton at Villa Park in mid-September, the first of three league goals this season, as well as three assists, which also coincided with his international debut for Poland.

And Cash’s performances have been recognised by Villa fans, who voted him as their standout performer in a poll across the club’s official channels.

Jacob Ramsey was named both Players’ Player of the Season and Young Player of the Season as he walked away with an awards double.

The 20-year-old midfielder has enjoyed a memorable campaign having made 31 Premier League appearances, including 27 starts, and scored six goals.

Like Cash, Ramsey’s first senior goal for the club came this season, finding the net at Arsenal in October, before a stunning solo goal at Norwich City, a goal and an assist in the thrilling 2-2 draw against Manchester United, a brace at home to Leeds United and another away at West Ham United.

And his impressive campaign has been recognised at Villa’s End of Season Awards Dinner.

Both Academy graduate Ramsey and Cash put pen to paper on new contracts at the club last month.

Danny Ings scooped the Goal of the Season award for his stunning strike against Newcastle United in August.

The Villa striker netted a superb overhead kick in the club’s 2-0 victory over the Magpies at Villa Park.

Ings’ acrobatic finish won the Premier League’s Goal of the Month award for August and has now landed him the club’s Goal of the Season honour, voted for by the club’s supporters.

It was the second of seven goals Ings has netted so far this term, adding a further six assists to date.

Congratulations to each of the award winners and huge thank you to everyone who voted!
