Jacob Ramsey spoke of his frustration after Aston Villa’s 1-1 draw at home to Crystal Palace.
Villa took the lead courtesy of Ollie Watkins’ 11th Premier League goal of the campaign, yet Palace substitute Jeffrey Schlupp tapped home a late leveller to ensure it finished all square at Villa Park.
The point leaves Villa in 12th place in the table on 44 points heading into their final two matches of the season.
Speaking to VillaTV post-match, midfielder Ramsey said: “I thought in the first half they caused us a few problems.
“At half-time, the gaffer and his coaching staff came in and sorted them out.
“I thought in the second half after the goal we were excellent at keeping the ball.
“I gave away a sloppy free-kick and they’ve scored off a second phase from that, which is obviously disappointing.
“We should win that game 1-0 or 2-0 with the chances we had, in the first half especially.”
He added: “It feels like two points lost, one point gained.
“But, like the gaffer said, we’ve got a big game on Thursday against Burnley.
“We conceded here from a set-piece and Burnley are known for their set-pieces so we’ve got to get that right.”
