Aston Villa and Cardiff City came together to celebrate the life of Peter Whittingham on Wednesday evening.

The two clubs contested the Peter Whittingham Memorial Match at Cardiff City Stadium on a night that also formally launched the PW7 Foundation, established in Peter’s memory.

On the pitch, the hosts took a first half lead when Ollie Tanner rifled a shot into the far corner before Kion Etete netted at the start of the second half.

Jacob Ramsey pulled one back for Villa but Cardiff took the win as Etete netted his second to make it 3-1.
