Loan round-up: AJ at the double

Aaron Ramsey bagged a brace as Norwich City recorded a 3-1 victory over Stoke City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

The Aston Villa loanee registered his first goals for the Canaries, netting a first-half opener and then doubling the home side’s advantage to cap a starring role in the Championship triumph and net the man-of-the-match award.

"Absolutely buzzing," said Ramsey after netting twice. "It's been a long time coming to get my first goal, and to get two is even better. And especially to get the three points."

Jaden Philogene was also on the scoresheet as his well-taken strike inspired Cardiff City to a 1-0 victory over Rotherham United in the Welsh capital.

Philogene stepped off the bench at half-time and duly curled home a fine finish after some fancy footwork to seal a much-needed victory for the Bluebirds.

“I’ve practiced it in training, getting three bodies around me," he said. "You don’t have to shift it, just use the defender and curl it around them."

Tim Iroegbunam completed 90 minutes for QPR as they were beaten 2-0 at Birmingham City on Friday night.

In League One, Louie Barry played 66 minutes as MK Dons battled out a goalless draw at Cheltenham Town.

In League Two, Tyreik Wright claimed an assist as Bradford City played out a 1-1 draw against Crawley Town

North of the border, Brad Young completed 64 minutes as Ayr United registered a 2-0 victory at Arbroath to consolidate their place at the top of the Scottish Championship.

Finn Azaz and his Plymouth Argyle side host neighbours Exeter City on Monday night in a big Devon derby in League One.

Bertand Traoré’s Istanbul Basaksehir FK and Wesley’s Levante UD are also both in action on Monday, facing Giresunspor and Sporting Gijon respectively.

Keinan Davis, Kortney Hause (both Watford), Kaine Kesler Hayden (Huddersfield Town), Viljami Sinisalo (Burton Albion), Caleb Chukwuemeka (Crawley Town), Hayden Lindley (Newport County) and Ben Chrisene (Kilmarnock) did not feature for their loan clubs.
