GALLERY: Villa open the season at St. James' Park

Aston Villa kicked off the season against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Saturday.

The Magpies flew out of the traps and went ahead through Sandro Tonali after six minutes. 

Debutant Moussa Diaby levelled the scores before Alexander Isak struck to make it 2-1 at half-time. 

The visitors, who lost Tyrone Mings to injury, conceded thrice more in the second half to make it a tough afternoon on Tyneside.
