Moussa Diaby was handed his competitive debut for Aston Villa’s opening game of the Premier League season at Newcastle United.
The pacy forward, a summer signing who has impressed during pre-season, was named in Unai Emery’s starting XI for the clash at St. James’ Park (ko 5.30pm).
Fellow new arrivals Pau Torres and Youri Tielemans were both named among the substitutes for the encounter against the Magpies.
There were also places on the bench for youngsters Jaden Philogene, Cameron Archer and Omari Kellyman.
