Cameron Archer and Aaron Ramsey started a Championship game together for the first time at the weekend as Middlesbrough beat Tim Iroegbunam's Queens Park Rangers 3-1 at the Riverside Stadium.

Archer and Ramsey were both substituted after 78 minutes with Boro leading 2-0, while Iroegbunam played the full 90 minutes for the visitors. 

A fifth successive win for Michael Carrick's side closed the gap to second-placed Sheffield United to just four points in the race for promotion to the Premier League.

Elsewhere in the second tier, Jaden Philogene played the full 90 minutes of Cardiff City's 1-0 home win over Reading on Friday night, and Marvelous Nakamba was on the pitch for 68 minutes as Luton Town were beaten 1-0 at home by league leaders Burnley.

Overseas, Morgan Sanson was substituted after 67 minutes of Strasbourg's 2-1 home win over Angers, while Wesley came on for the final 15 minutes of Levante's goalless draw at Ponferradina.

Finn Azaz and Lamare Bogarde were both in League One action during the weekend, with Azaz playing 57 minutes of Plymouth Argyle's 0-0 stalemate with Fleetwood Town, and Bogarde also starting and completing 61 minutes of Bristol Rovers' 2-1 home defeat to Burton Albion.

In League Two, Louie Barry came on for the final 22 minutes but couldn't prevent Salford City from falling to a 2-1 defeat at home against Swindon Town, while in the National League, Filip Marschall played the full 90 minutes of Gateshead's 1-0 defeat away at Southend United.

Kilmarnock's Ben Chrisene and Crawley Town's Caleb Chukwuemeka were not in action at the weekend, while Keinan Davis and Watford host West Bromwich Albion on Monday night.
