GALLERY: Villa triumph on New Year's Day

Aston Villa celebrated the start of 2023 with a superb 2-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur on New Year’s Day.

Emi Buendía put Villa on their way early in the second half before Douglas Luiz’s third goal of the season in the 73^rd minute sealed an impressive three points in north London.

Victory ensured the Villans have now won three of their first four league matches under head coach Unai Emery.

In turn, the Spaniard becomes the first Villa manager since John Gregory in 1998 to win his opening two Premier League away matches.
