Maz Pacheco says there is a 'belief' in the Aston Villa Women changing room following our 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

Villa's progression against the Barclays WSL's best sides continued in Manchester, with Kirsty Hanson cancelling out Deyna Castellanos' opener to ensure a point for Carla Ward's side.

Villa were assured for large spells of the encounter and even had chances to win the game.

Speaking to VillaTV after full-time, Pacheco was content with the effort displayed by her teammates.

“We always want to compete with the top four, and we’ve done that," the left-back stated.

"Disappointed we didn’t get the win, because three points is what we were going for, but happy.”

As was the case during our win over Tottenham Hotspur at the beginning of the year, we fell behind against City before quickly bouncing back.

And Pacheco spoke of the spirited nature that now exists within the Villa changing room.

“We don’t keep our heads down, it’s something we’ve worked on," admitted the defender.

"It’s the belief in the changing room. We all believe in ourselves and it doesn’t matter when we go 1-0, 2-0 or 3-0 down. We believe we can get something.”
