Aston Villa Women booked their place in the Fifth Round of the Vitality Women’s FA Cup with an 11-0 win over AFC Fylde on Sunday.

Eight different players netted for Carla Ward’s side as they put on a ruthlessly clinical display at Poundland Bescot Stadium.

Rachel Daly scored four times, while Laura Blindkilde Brown, Kenza Dali and Emily Gielnik also found the net.

Anna Patten and Maz Pacheco scored their first goals for the club, while Alisha Lehmann and Sarah Mayling rounded out the scoring.

Carla Ward made four changes from the side that started Thursday’s Conti Cup quarter-final with Arsenal.

Olivia McLoughlin slotted in at right-back, while Patten and Dan Turner returned to the back-line.

Patten was ineligible to face her parent club, while Turner recovered from a concussion suffered last weekend.

The final change saw Lucy Staniforth drafted back in having been cup-tied on Thursday.

Villa made a lightning quick start to the tie, taking the lead within the opening two minutes.

Alisha Lehmann pounced on AFC Fylde in their own third and drove towards goal before slipping in an expectant Daly.

Our leading goalscorer got the ball under control before slotting home with ease.

Five minutes later, the lead was doubled.

Blindkilde Brown, without a goal since her maiden strike in December 2021 against Sunderland, launched a floating effort towards the net from long range.

Despite the ‘keeper’s best efforts, the ball found its way into the net.

The siege continued moments later as Daly tapped home from Gielnik’s centre.

Villa added further goals before half-time through Dali, Gielnik and Patten.

Dali bent in a direct free-kick before Gielnik expertly lobbed over the Fylde ‘keeper seconds later.

Patten bundled home her first goal for the club to cap a clinical opening 45 minutes.

Villa didn’t relent once the second half got underway, and Daly ended the evening with four goals to her name before making way late on.

Lehmann tucked in a ninth, before Pacheco’s cross-shot found its way in and Mayling converted from the spot to seal a resounding evening at the Bescot.
