John McGinn helped Scotland to a crucial 2-1 victory over Norway on Saturday in their bid to qualify for Euro 2024.

The Aston Villa captain completed 91 minutes and had a hand in both goals as Scotland scored twice late on to stun the hosts and claim all three points.

Erling Haaland’s second-half penalty put Norway ahead in Oslo, only for Lyndon Dykes to level in the 87th minute and Kenny McLean to fire a dramatic winner moments later.

It leaves the Tartan Army with a 100% record at the top of Group A, with Georgia next up at Hampden Park on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).

Leander Dendoncker

Fellow Villa midfielder Leander Dendoncker played 84 minutes as Belgium drew 1-1 with Austria in Brussels.

The visitors held a slender lead at the break, which was cancelled out by Romelu Lukaku’s strike just after the hour mark.

The point sees second-placed Belgium remain behind leaders Austria in Group F as they also bid to qualify for next summer’s European Championship.

Belgium are next in action away to Estonia on Tuesday (ko 7.45pm).
